What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be undisputed authority for Salvation and Christian living (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

The basic and fundamental doctrine of Pentecotals Of Yorktown Church, is the Bible standard of salvation, which is repentance from dead works, faith toward Jesus Christ as the only true God, who has manifest Himself in
the flesh.

Baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

The baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (i.e. we believe the new birth as recorded in the book of Acts chapter 2, verse 38 is essential for apostolic conversion, and the perfecting of love and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.)

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” - Acts 2:38 KJV

We believe  “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (II Timothy 3:16)

There is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). God is the creator of heaven and earth and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the son (our Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (the indwelling Holy Spirit). Jesus Christ is God manifest in flesh and has a dual nature.  Jesus IS both God and man (Colossians 2:9, 1Timothy 3:16).
